Qualifications
Bachelors' in Mechanical Engineering or higher
Must have 5-10 years' experience working with high voltage electronics for automotive use, inverters, DC to DC converters or batteries
Understanding of vibration, heat transfer, material fatigue life, dynamics, statics, fluid dynamics, and thermal growth
Heat Transfer or Liquid Cooled Electronics
Injection Molding (plastic or metal)
Sheet Metal Stamping
High Voltage Electronics
Dielectrics
Rapid Prototyping
Working with component suppliers to source rapid proto hardware
Experience Creating prototype assembly instructions and working with technicians to build and test your designs
Electronics Exposure
Basic understanding of EV technologies and hybrid vehicle technologies
High Voltage safety knowledge
Soldering experience
Experience working in an electronics lab
Designing test conditions and pass/fail criteria for testing your designs to meet certain goals
Organizing others to execute your tests as needed
Matlab and LabVIEW experience preferred
Teamwork
Working with team members the globe as well as traveling to outside labs to oversee prototype component testing or assembly
Component design
Die casting of aluminum parts, injection molding parts, 3D printing, sheet metal forming, welding, soldering, adhesives, liquid cooled systems, seals and gaskets, electrical contacts
Automotive experience or interest preferred
Pay Range
The pay range for this role is between $ 117,001 and 190,126.
Note that this range represents the pay range for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls. Starting rate of pay may vary based on factors including, but not limited to, position offered, education, training, and/or experience.
