Job Description:

GDIT, a Federal marketplace leader in next-generation IT solutions and services, is seeking highly qualified and motivated IT professionals like you who are eager to contribute to our critical Homeland Security missions. For the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), GDIT provides enterprise IT services for DHS’s biometric identity management system (IDENT) and the Office of Biometric Identity Management (OBIM) to store, match, share, and analyze biometric and biographic data in support of DHS’s strategic mission. GDIT’s operations and maintenance (O&M) services support break-fix of current OBIM functional capabilities, as well as security remediation activities and developmental engineering (such as prototyping new code or configurations of OBIM functionality). At the most critical moments of change, we’re there - bringing the resources, solutions, and expertise to help our clients take on some of the world’s biggest challenges - and GDIT is excited to offer you a unique opportunity to join a best performing O&M team supporting one our nation’s most critical national security, law enforcement, immigration and border management, and intelligence missions.

GDIT is looking for a Senior Data Warehouse (DW) Developer/Architect to serve on the Operational Data Store (ODS) /  Business Intelligence (BI) team, providing both O&M support and DW/BI developmental engineering for this large, complex task order. The successful candidate will be proactive and entrepreneurial, work collaboratively, and apply hard (technical) and soft (people) skills to: lead and deliver standard, full lifecycle, DW/BI solutions (analysis, design, implementation, validation, training, and customer support); work to enhance the customer's BI acumen and reporting abilities; apply strong written and verbal skills to develop advanced technological solutions into a final product; manage real and potential issues, taking ownership of edge events; and advocate for robust, long-term solutions.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
• Provide substantial system administration support for BI tools (Informatica, Birst, and Redshift), manage one-off O&M related tasks, and support other O&M tasks and teams
• Build, extend, enhance, and support the DW/BI environment and reporting capability in GovCloud and help lead the transition from on-premise Oracle DB to GovCloud
• Anticipate, develop, coordinate, and execute migration and modernization plans for on-premise to Cloud BI O&M and other enhancements
• Support customer strategic and tactical planning
• Training users in BI self-service
• Train other program teams/staff to effectively contributing across the lifecycle
• Provide production support/O&M, on-call 24x7

Required Skills / Qualifications:
• U.S. citizenship
• DHS HQ EOD required to start; must be able to obtain DHS HQ Final Suitability
• BA/BS (or equivalent experience) and 10+ years of experience
• Data architect expertise – OLTP analysis and reverse engineering, ODS and OLTP design and implementation
• ETL development expertise in client-server tool, (e.g.,Informatica) implementing CDC and bulk loads to Cloud databases (e.g. AWS Redshift)
• SQL competency – develop effective scripts, functions and procedures
• OLAP design and implementation expertise
• BI expertise – build and maintain semantic layer, factless and metric rich reports, dashboards, exception KPIs
• Test and validation expertise
• Ability to brief, educate, and persuade customer staff and leadership (up to SES-level)

Desired Skills / Qualifications:
• Degree in computer engineering, computer science, information systems, or related field of study
• 15+ yrs of relevant experience
• Specific O&M and development experience with BIRST
• AWS S3 experience
• Expertise developing BI reports, dashboards, and/or predictive analytics using BI tools (e.g., Birst, Power BI, Microstrategy, Tableau, AWS Quicksight, OBIEE, etc.)
• Experience administering BI, AWS/Redshift, and/or Informatica tools (e.g., PowerExhcange, PowerCenter, Data Quality)
• Expertise developing customized integrations using BI APIs, Java, Python, JSON, Linux shell scripting, etc.
• Experience developing and/or managing BI tool security administration (user, row, column)
• Experience in BI tool performance trouble-shooting and tuning
• Experience with Cloud ETL tools, e.g., IICS, DMS, Glue, Athena 
• Experience working in data centers on O&M and DevOps environments
• Experience with large DHS systems and/or identity data 
• Experience in Agile development and/or DevOps methodologies
• Certification in AWS Cloud Practitioner, Operations, and/or Specialty domain

The likely salary range for this position is $122,400 - $183,600, this is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary; rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
