Job Description:

GDIT's work depends on a Help Desk Technician joining our team to support the U.S. Army Medical Materiel Development Activity (USAMMDA) activities at Fort Detrick, Maryland.

In this role, a typical day will include the following responsibilities and tasks:

  • Responsible for providing Tier I & Tier II computer technical support received through phone calls, and tickets

  • Responsible for troubleshooting Windows 10 OS, various software applications, and hardware support issues by identifying problems, investigating causes, and recommending solutions

  • Expected to work with hardware suppliers and software companies used within our environment to investigate problems and resolve issues

  • Administer User and Computer accounts within Active Directory

  • Provides a high level of customer service when interacting with the user base

  • Support and provide feedback to ensure continual process improvement

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 3+ years of directly related experience supporting help desk operations supporting Windows OS operating system environments
  • Experience troubleshooting Microsoft Operating System and Office product suite
  • A+ or Security + Certification or ability to obtain within 30 days of employment
  • Technical knowledge of computing laptop hardware and technologies
  • Ability to work independently in order to solve technical problems
  • U.S. Citizenship and an active T3 (NACLC) is required

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • AA/AS or a related technical discipline
