Job Description:

GDIT is looking for a Senior Data Engineer to support complex scalable data platforms that provide business intelligence, analytics and data products to the mission. This person should embody a passion for continuous improvement and innovation.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• The candidate will be expected to provide an array of skills within the data engineering discipline

• This position will require engineering expertise within a multi-faceted team, where the individual is willing to provide a myriad of taskings to support the mission and be willing to learn new technology and methodologies as the program evolves

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS

• TS/SCI with polygraph

•  8+ years of experience with a BA/BS (or equivalent combination of education and experience)

• Engineering background or a related technical discipline

• Minimum 5 years of related software/database development experience

• StrongSQL query knowledge

• Elasticsearch development and/or administration experience

• Data analytics skills, to include detailed data analysis and metric generation

• Team focused, willing to develop and implement solutions in a dispersed team environment

• Available for off-hours deployments and system maintenance

• Candidate should have at least 2 of the desired skills below

• Experience with data visualization and data validation routines

DESIRED KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Electrical or Computer

• On the job experience providing Linux based database administration

• Operations, to include Git/Jenkins/Rundeck/Jira/Confluence

• Ability to write short python/java/bash scripts

• AWS/C2S solutions

• Ability to write technical documentation for security (ATO), architecture, and implementation guides

• Pentaho or other Extract Transformation & Load (ETL) applications
