GDIT is a government contractor providing professional and technical services to various government agencies (i.e. defense). We are currently looking for a Senior Database Administrator (DBA)/ Functional Systems Administrator (FSA) to provide support for our government customer located at Eglin AFB, FL.

The desired DBA candidate must:  

• Have experience installing and configuring Microsoft SQL Server 2016

• Have extensive experience with Microsoft SQL Server 2016, backups and restore.

• Have experience configuring SQL Server hardware to use network attached storage,

• Have understanding of NetApp as external storage for SQL Server Database.

• Have experience in configuring and maintaining “Always on Availability Groups”.

• Have experience in SQL Server scripting.

• Have experience in configuring the security of SQL Server 2016 (preferred having experience used Air Force Stigs).

The desired candidate will also perform FSA functions to include:  

• Administer production, development, and testing environments in a complex, heterogeneous, cross-platform environment. 

• Maintain servers, security implementations, monitor server performance and stability, and ensure efficient and effective operations. 

• Provide engineering, systems analysis, design, development, documentation, and creation of enterprise systems to ensure appropriate implementation and performance of all assigned systems and products and to ensure new emerging systems are being deployed in accordance with Information Assurance requirements. 

• Administer continual maintenance and ensure consistent operations of a large variety of Windows servers and applications. 

• Provide the highest level of back-end or Tier 3 support by identifying, prioritizing, and determining a solution for reported customer issues and problems.

Basic Qualifications:

• BS degree; additional years of experience may be considered in lieu of degree

• 5+ years of Systems Administration experience with Windows Server 2008, 2008 R2, 2012 or later

• Security+ CE

• Top Secret clearance

Preferred Experience with:

• PowerShell Scripting

• Storage Area Network System (SANS)

• VMWare Virtual Desktop technologies (or knowledge of)
