Job Description Summary:

Individual should possess in depth technical knowledge and hands-on experience with Active Directory Domain Services. The engineer's primary responsibilities consist of directory/site design, group policy architecture & troubleshooting, and certificate services support.

Individual will research, evaluate, design, implement, and maintain system and product solutions, applying knowledge of engineering principles. Individual will also provide technical direction and engineering support for projects and infrastructure.

Roles & Responsibilities: 

• Configure and maintain complex Active Directory forests and domains across a complex network with over 10,000 users and 20,000 Active Directory objects. 

• Work within a bastion forest solution to provide comprehensive security and management across multiple Active Directory forests. 

• Continually monitor environment to ensure best practices and Federal guidelines are being followed.

• Create advanced monitoring strategies for monitoring and reporting health of Active Directory components.

• Record problem symptoms and status information in a timely fashion and communicate internally within IT and externally with the customer through problem resolution.

• Responsible for day-to-day administration duties including Windows Active Directory object maintenance. Conducts complex troubleshooting and repair tasks on Active Directory, Windows Server 2008-2019, Domain Controllers, user authentication and other operational systems as needed.

• Monitoring, backup, and restoration procedures for Active Directory.

• Document new system components, or modifications to existing components

• Ensure the security and integrity of system and product solutions.

• Active Directory Federation Services (ADFS) infrastructure management

• Participate in on-call rotation (as required) for emergency technical support and planned maintenance activities

• Perform research, procurement, deployment and configuration of systems

• Present clear, organized & concise information to audiences to enable business decisions

Qualifications & Requirements: 

• BS in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Mathematics, or other related scientific or technical discipline.  

• Position requires three to eight years of relevant experience supporting projects of similar size, scope and complexity.  

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic this position is mostly telework. Post pandemic this position will be mostly onsite with the option for some telework.

DoD 8140 compliance required. (CompTIA Security+)
