Job Description:
Participate in regular meetings discussing project system requirements and status.
Phone support with the customer
to resolve issues pertaining to future releases of IMIS
support issues that arise in the field for current releases of IMIS.
Evaluate and recommend hardware based on customer requirements
ensure there are no unwanted features
ensuring it is on the required hardware approved list
Research and track latest CVEs for software, hardware and network gear for updates
Make recommendations to the customer that would allow
improved security,
improve performance and redundancy,
act on approved recommendations
Run vulnerability assessments STIGS/SCAP
Make modifications to Operating Systems and other COTS software
Create tools to secure Operating Systems and applications used on the Operating Systems.
Create packages for tools to
Compile, and test software for an OS package and deliver
Create documentation for the customer providing latest information about available OS patches and CVEs.
Update custom STIG tools we provide to the customer for Operating Systems being used.
Manage internal GDIT (F22) switches, SAN, Internal network configuration for system redundancy and backups
Recommend evaluated hardware based on customer needs. Evaluate the hardware to ensure there are no unwanted features, such as wireless communication features that could be enabled or on by default. Make adjustments to Operating Systems and other COTS software to help with configuration management and installation. Create tools to secure operating systems and applications used. Make requested changes to COTS software to meet customer intended use. Create packages and tools to install, remove, setup, check, etc. the packages provided to the customer. Research latest CVEs for software and hardware we use for the customer. Create documentation for the latest information about OS patches and CVEs. Run vulnerability assessments of lab systems and hardware. Update custom STIG tools , add additional security controls to further reduce the attack surface of the Operating Systems and network equipment used on the program. Make recommendations to improve security and act on those recommendations when approved. Create network environments for testing. Troubleshoot network issues with the systems and assist with field network issues. Make configuration changes to templates provided to the customer based on business changes. Provide procedures and support to the customer as needed when troubleshooting potential network issues. Make recommendations to the customer to provide better security, performance, and redundancy. Setup various routing protocols in our lab environment on physica and virtual switches, firewalls, and routers to test various scenarios.
