At GDIT, people are our differentiator.  As a VMWare Engineer supporting the Government, you will be trusted with deploying VMWare applications in physical and virtual environments, integrating multiple virtual servers, and providing VMWare support for the Enterprise.

In this role, a typical day may include:

• Installs, monitors, and tunes VMware Virtual architecture/ system software to obtain Authorize to Operate (ATO) for new builds
• Installs, configures, tests, and maintains system management tools, infrastructure, and server plugins
• Evaluates, improves, and maintains information security throughout the virtualized infrastructure
• Reviews completion and implementation of system additions and/or enhancements and makes recommendations to management and/or clients
• Administers, operates, manages, and maintains components for on-premises and cloud-based virtualized systems
• Designs, develops, integrates, and deploys VMWare IT solutions
• Installs operating systems service packs, security patches, and bug fixes
• Optimizes network hardware and software to enable VMware integration
• Monitors and tests application performance for potential bottlenecks, identifies possible solutions, and collaborates with stakeholders to implement resolutions
• Participates in the design of information and operational support systems.
• Participates in site system integrations
• Troubleshoots and resolves VMware environment issues
• Provides technical support and documents VMware processes

WHAT YOU’LL NEED:

• Active TS/SCI clearance and ability to obtain and maintain a CI poly.
• Must meet DoD 8570 IAT Level II requirements including one of the following:  Security+ CE, CND, SSCP, GSEC, GICSP, CySA+, or CCNA Security.
• Bachelor’s Degree in a related technical discipline, or the equivalent combination of education, technical certification or training, or work/military experience
• 3 years’ experience in relevant technologies
• Strong understanding of Windows server and desktop operating systems
• Great organizational, time management, and problem-solving skills
• Exceptional analytical and technical aptitude
• Effective communication and collaboration skills
• Desired:
  • VMWare Certified Professional (VCP) certification
