Job Description Summary

Reporting to the Maintenance Manager - lead the EC&I Technicians to ensure all Electrical, Controls and Instrumentation maintenance routines, defect repairs and breakdown work are carried out in a safe, efficient and effective manner to meet contractual targets in accordance with site safety, environmental and quality procedures.

Using a computerised maintenance management system (CMMS) to record, control and feedback on maintenance activities and implement planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and defect rectification

Ensure maintenance team are capable of reacting to rectify unplanned maintenance activities

Ensure that all work undertaken by site staff or contractor personnel is in accordance with site safety, environmental and quality procedures.

Carry out maintenance activity as and when required and support and assist team members in their duties.

           
Organise maintenance activities on a daily basis in order to prioritise emergent defects.
Assist with implementation of a performance management process to ensure staff are motivated and suitably qualified, experienced and trained to carry out their duties.
 

Education and Experience:

• Electrical, Instrument, Control or Mechanical Engineering Higher Certificate qualification
• At least five years experiences in maintenance of Power Stations or large continuous process plants, of which some years may be in commissioning
• At least two years experiences in line management
• Experience in maintenance of relevant Power Stations

Knowledge and Expertise:

• Substantial knowledge of Distribution Control System

• Substantial knowledge of electrical installations, electrical maintenance and safety implications with HV works.

• Goo interpersonal skils.

• A good understanding of maintenance management concepts and practices

• Knowledge of risk management techniques

• Some knowledge of commercial processes and budgeting experience

Responsibilities:

• Support the Maintenance Manager to meet the maintenance  kpi’s and  targets
• Participate in the development of the plant maintenance schedules
• Participate in the budget planning and control elaboration
• Ensure proper and effective execution of maintenance activities
• Ensure all plant maintenance records in a relevant location available for auditing
• Lead and give advice to the maintenance team
• Understand and implement GE O&M Procedure (PSQMS) requirement
• Forward recommendations for the improvement of maintenance procedures to the Maintenance Manager
• Use of spare part efficiently
• Ensure all plant equipment and tools are in good condition and ready to use
• Maintain a high safety conscious working environment and ensure compliance with all company and legislative Environmental, Health & Safety requirements
• Maintain good teamwork with power plant personal

• Competent Person under GE O&M Safety Procedures
• Issue purchase request
• Approve P.O. during absence of Maintenance Manager
• To stop unsafe work

General:

• The jobholder shall be medically fit to undertake the full duties of the post.
