Perform maintenence on electrical equipments, plant instrumenation and control system. Supervison of permanent site contractors.
Reporting to the Maintenance Manager as part of the Maintenance team, this role comes with the responsibility to ensure all electrical, instrumentation and control maintenance routines, defect repairs and breakdown work are carried out in an efficient manner to meet contractual targets in accordance with site safety, environmental and quality procedures.
Main Duties
Responsible for implementation and feedback on preventative maintenance work, defect rectification and project work relating to rotating and stationary electrical, control and instrumentation plant and maintenance equipment.
Production of maintenance procedures and contractor work scopes.
Support and participate in all maintenance outage activities and liaise with Operations department to ensure safety documentation available when required.
Routine calibration of instruments and Continuous Emissions Monitoring System (CEMS)
Implement Reliability Based Maintenance practices
Organisation of electrical or instrument maintenance and associated contract supervision ensuring all work is technically correct and in accordance with site safety, environmental and quality procedures.
Reporting to the Maintenance Management Team on the progress of work and provide justified reasons for incomplete or delayed work so as to provide for more accurate forecasting and planning.
Update of work order records and reports utilising a Computerised Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
Participate in the quality or safety committees required to maintain the site’s quality, safety and environmental management systems.
From time to time be on call out of hours to support emergency work.
Qualifications/Requirements
Electrical & Instrumentation craft qualification, Cert/Diploma/Degree
A broad practical knowledge of maintenance requirements of electrical equipment
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Working knowledge and experience with Microsoft Office applications
Flexible to work extended hours as circumstances dictate
Knowledge of Controls and PLC’s would be an advantage
A background in Electrical Switchgear & Transformers for several years would be an advantage
