Position summary

Job Description Summary

The Gas Power business provides quick issue resolution for Product Lines; has a need for QRC Engineer with experience working on GE Aeroderivative Gas Turbines.

The successful candidate will be responsible for triaging Aero customer operational issues and/or resolving customer queries during their scheduled working hours. The candidate will apply their technical expertise and utilizing when possible Remote Monitoring & Diagnostic system (RM&D).

Job Description

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Technical issues resolution in a timely manner.
  • Reduce on site services execution jobs by solving technical issues remotely. 
  • Act as technical expert for customers using the remote system and process.
  • If technical issue cannot be solved remotely, request on site execution in terms of maximizing efficiency and optimizing resources.
  • Receive, log, resolve issue(s) quickly OR when necessary, forward issues to correct x-function to resolve the issue.
  • Collecting of fleet issues to support the emergent issue process.
  • Optimizing of first fix rate via telephone and remote support.
  • Participation in the 24/7/365 support shifts per Aero business structure and product line, which includes weekend duty.
  • Demonstrated ability to represent GE in customer communications.
  • Demonstrated ability to work with a cross-functional team. 
  • Attend product line trainings for all Aero products to broaden your product line knowledge and expertise.
  • Position to be located in the Americas region (North America or Latin America)
     

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited university with some years’ experience as services technician (Controls/Electrical/Mechanical) on various control panels OR considerable years of previous work experience as services technician (Controls/Electric/Mechanical) on various controls panels

Desired Characteristics

  • Working knowledge of gas turbine and gas turbine packages.
  • Considerable years previous work experience as services technician (Controls/Electric/Mechanical) on various controls panels (Woodward/GE MK 5/6/6e/ Fanuc/RX3i)
  • Strong knowledge of products and services of Aero Gas Turbine product line.
  • Be able to read and interpret electrical/mechanical flow and instrument diagrams, schematics or other technical documents.
  • Strong computer skills and advanced user of office package (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze and resolve problems.
  • Fluent in local language of your position location of country and working knowledge of English, additional languages would be a plus.
  • Knowledge on DLE controls
  • Demonstrated Team Player 
  • Proven interpersonal skills
  • Self-Starter
  • Commercial sensitivity with a focus on customer needs 
  • Mechanical, electrical or controls experience with Aero Gas Turbine Products
