Data Acquisition Software Developer Data Analytics – Data Systems Engineering
The Software developer with a primary focus for the growth and development of CDT DBGET data management platform that hosts PetaBytes of raw test data for both online and offline processing as well as supporting test team at customers field site. The software developer will integrate and develop testing & data acquisition processes and analytical methods that meet business needs across the organization. This role is also involved in long-term planning and contributes to the overall strategy and manages complex issues in the area of measurement, data system technology, and analytical methods.

Essential Functions (Responsibilities):

• Passion for building and developing software with a strong sense of ownership.
• Minimum 3+ years of experience on C#.NET, MVC, MVVM, ASP.NET, Web API
• Strong UI development skill using HTML, CSS, JavaScript, JQuery.
• Experience on Multi-threading, Parallel Tasking, TPL.
• Microsoft SQL Server (database design, querying and T-SQL programming).
• Experience on Windows service development.
• Knowledge on Windows Operating system.
• Design, implement and maintain the new solution(s) quickly and efficiently.
• Work with DSE software team on work scope & software development guidance.
• Communicate & report on deliverables to DSE team frequently during the week.
• Work independently with minimal supervision as an integral part of an engineering team focused on delivering solutions to the customer quickly and efficiently.
• Ability to mentor other team members.

Qualifications/Requirements:

• BE/B.Tech in Engineering or B.Sc. in Sciences.
• Minimum 3 years’ experience in software development.
• Willing and able to travel worldwide up to 5-10% of the time.

Desired:

• ME/M.Tech in Engineering or M.Sc. in Sciences.
• Data management and Active Directory accounting.
• Programming experience in National Instruments LabVIEW.
• Proficient in Linux OS, cloud services (using AWS or MS Azure) & developing software for big data solutions.
• Familiarity of technical concepts relating to Instrumentation, Data Acquisition, Signal Conditioning & Sensors.
• System design including selection of sensors and data acquisition hardware.
• Excellent strong interpersonal skills; ability to work well with all levels of organization.
• Knowledge of signal processing concepts and familiar with post-processing data for rotating machinery.
• Boundary less thinker with the ability to manage multiple priorities and disciplines.
   

General:

The Component and Development Test (C&DT) CoE is responsible for the design and execution of critical test programs with the objective of acquiring high quality design data that will facilitate the development of world class products for the GE Power.  C&DT uses state-of-the-artS measurement and acquisition solutions to support worldwide test programs covering product and services applications in Gas, Steam, Generator, Wind and Aeroderivatives. Additionally, C&DT conducts Advanced Technology testing to provide fundamental design data and leads the transition of new measurement technology from the research stage to practical application.

Role Summary:

The Data Acquisition Software developer for Data Analytics has to work with the global DSE software team on work scope & software development guidance. He/ She should work independently with minimal supervision as an integral part of an engineering team focused on delivering the solutions to the customers quickly and efficiently without compromise on quality.   Also, he/ she should Participate and potentially lead software architecture and code reviews and build strong repo with all cross functional teams.
