    Position summary

    Job Description Summary

    The Facilities/Maintenance Manager oversees the maintenance and improvements for the Bangor plant facilities, including the installation, maintenance, and repair of manufacturing equipment. Supervises employees who perform maintenance and manage contractors. Project manager for stakeholders involved with facility and equipment improvements across the plant. The role requires high levels of operational judgment and technical knowledge, and people intelligence.

    Responsibilities:

    • Responsible for maintenance team including technicians, procurement, and supply inventory.
    • Oversee and guide machine probing, part probing, component monitoring, PLC integration, data gathering to support condition-based maintenance to support TPM (Total Productivity Maintenance).
    • Ensure that manufacturing premises are fully operational, maintained, and clean. This is manufacturing specific and may include snow removal, grounds keeping, machine coolant management, security, and other aspects.
    • Manage budget to forecast preventative maintenance and repair for equipment and facility and upcoming projects.
    • Contributes towards strategy and policy development and ensure delivery within area of responsibility.
    • Has in-depth knowledge of standard processes and how own facilities and maintenance objectives integrates with other services on-site.
    • Uses judgment to make decisions or solve moderately complex tasks or problems in areas of operational/product management, manufacturing, technology, or engineering.
    • Acts as a resource for colleagues with less experience. Leads projects of varying degrees with moderate risks and resource requirements.

    Requirements:

    • Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college (OR 2-year Associates degree from an accredited technical or trade school in related field) with at least 5 years of technical experience.
    • 5 or more years of experience in maintenance of manufacturing equipment including: PLC Logic, AC/DC circuits, HVAC, hydraulics, pneumatics, servo/actuator, and machine calibration.
    • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a leadership role over maintenance/facilities in manufacturing environment.

    Desired Characteristics:

    • Master Electrician license, other technical license(s).
    • Strong interpersonal and leadership skills and ability to work with cross functional teams.
    • Established project management skills.
