    Job Description

    Primary Responsibilities:

    The Lead Customs & Logistics Specialist will be responsible to deliver on time and compliant customs clearance through regular touchpoints with the broker and the internal GE stakeholders to ensure customer satisfaction and standardize logistics initiatives & projects.

    This includes initiating improvements in Customs & logistics operations and facilitating a strategic outlook that will better serve all stakeholders.

    • Manage daily operations with the broker, GE stakeholders and BPO to ensure engagement is established and communicate with relevant internal parties for incomplete documents or discrepancies in documents.
    • Identify Customs risks areas and evaluate related internal controls, develop actionable plans and procedures to reasonably mitigate and address identified risks.
    • Lead efforts to manage operational compliance with all import/export activities to meet compliance requirements; maintain GE’s ability to participate in any relevant special programs or other related activities.
    • Plan and execute inbound and/or outbound global logistics function.
    • Manage transportation and related logistics of goods and services to and from internal and/or external customers/suppliers.
    • Coordinate with Buyers, vendors, freight forwarders and carriers to ensure timely, accurate and cost-effective delivery of goods.
    • Maintain project logistics risks and opportunities enable proactive upstream and downstream influence and savings opportunities.
    • Coordinate with freight forwarders, Customs brokers, and carriers to resolve problems/issues.
    • Manage shipment and custom activities for import & export services.
    • Identify and implement best cost solutions regarding transport mode, route, carrier selection,
    • Working cross-functionally to identify improvement opportunities and implement successful changes.

    Qualifications Required:

    • Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain.
    • International logistics experience: transportation, customs, supply chain principles with minimum 5 years of working experience in logistics, custom clearance, and related activities.
    • Demonstrated ability to motivate, influence, solve complex problems, and drive change at all levels of the organization.
    • Proven ability to meet deadline in a fast pace changing environment.
