    Position summary

    Job Description Summary

    EIC Gas Power Gas Turbine Engineering Team is globally responsible for turbine & combustion modules in multiple GE Heavy Duty Gas Turbines, across all aspects of mechanical design for New Product Introductions (NPI), fleet/customers issues resolution and manufacturing support. As Combustion Lead Engineer you will focus on components mechanical design, analysis, and manufacturing of components in combustion systems of gas turbines (GT) for power generation market. You are expected to teamwork to solve any field issues and improve reliability of GE products. Given changing requirements on greenhouse gas emissions and vital role which the GTs will play in power generation mix role in Combustion design will provide plenty of opportunities for development.

    Roles and Responsibilities

    • The Lead Engineer in the Combustion Design Team will be responsible for design and development of assigned components in Combustion Module considering cost, operability, and reliability;
    • Participate in planning and execution of laboratory/field testing of combustion systems to validate combustor performance
    • With guidance design combustion components to meet product goals related to requirements
    • On-time delivery of assigned tasks in the space of manufacturing, sourcing, and fleet support
    • On-time completion of NPI reviews as well as deliver on analytical work
    • Effectively work within Combustion Module and with partnering organizations: Product Definition, Systems, Sourcing, Manufacturing and Chiefs Office to assure component design in line with requirements
    • Effectively document engineering work results and present them in formal and informal reviews, document technical data generated to substantiate the assigned components, assemblies and/or systems consistent with engineering policies and procedures

    Required Qualifications

    • MS/BSc in Combustion/Mechanical Engineering, or similar, with strong & meaningful professional engineering experience in mechanical design, preferably combustor components
    • Knowledge of materials and manufacturing methods, preferably used in combustion systems space
    • Ability to manage multiple tasks in a challenging and dynamic environment, to work with minimal supervision and under time pressure
    • Demonstrated excellent English language written and verbal communication skills

    Desired Characteristics

    • Experience with combustion systems design and operations
    • Experience with FEM
    • Influencing skills working in a global matrix organization
    • Structured in approach and well organized
