Job Description
Role & Responsibility:
Driving performance achievement in Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Cost.
Managing a team of operation leaders, product engineers, supervisors, and operators.
Implementing strategies to achieve EHS (Environment, Health, Safety), Quality, Productivity, Cost, Delivery, Resource Utilization, People Development, and Compliance.
Managing Bullet Train expenses, employee overtime, and job cost.
Driving and implementing growth strategies for the cell.
Directing process/product improvement programs and providing process method excellence throughout the organization.
Managing communications with key stakeholders.
Selecting, hiring, training, developing, and providing ongoing leadership and direction of assigned personnel.
Interfacing with other organizations and vendors to ensure requirements are met on time.
Interfacing with internal and external customers to ensure their requirements are met.
Driving a Lean mindset to enhance cell performance.
Being responsible for EHS and Quality Framework leadership.
Executing audit plans and being responsible for product RCA.
Driving safety and quality culture through STOP WORK, concern reporting, risk reduction/quality improvement projects, hazard hunts, layered process reviews, read-across, and management of change.
Driving cell performance through effective usage of lean digital resources.
Leading Lean action workouts and driving completion for Kaizen actions.
Performing Heijunka, implementing flow, performing daily management, driving problem-solving culture, and achieving TAKT attainment.
Partnering with global teams from Materials, Optimization, Special Process, Engineering, Productivity, Lean to optimize production through a pull system to ensure on-time delivery.
Supporting WIP Inventory reduction, driving wing-to-wing lead time reduction, achieving productivity targets, and performing total productivity maintenance.
Coaching Ops Leaders/Engineers and developing operation leaders with a Lean Mindset.
Engaging employees through toolbox, skip levels, 1x1.
Driving You-Matter conversations and encouraging diversity and inclusion.
Qualifications Required:
Intermediate level proficiency in Japanese and English for daily communication.
Bachelor's degree from an accredited university
At least 5+ years of related working experience including 3 years in a shop operation leadership position. EHS experience is preferable.
Proven results with experience of leading a large and complex team.
Demonstrated competent leadership to drive desired outcomes.
Willingness to work at the plant in Yokohama, Japan.
