Job Description
Key Responsibilities
Commissioning & Electrical Systems
Lead offshore teams performing installation, pre-commissioning, commissioning, maintenance, and fault rectification on LV and HV electrical systems, including:
Execute and supervise commissioning activities in line with approved method statements, risk assessments, and commissioning procedures
Interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, single-line diagrams, and technical specifications to ensure correct system configuration
Support senior engineers during energisation, functional testing, and handover activities
Ensure accurate completion of commissioning documentation, test records, and non-conformance reports
Fault Finding & Diagnostics
Diagnose LV and HV electrical faults using appropriate test and diagnostic equipment
Lead fault-finding activities, applying systematic root-cause analysis
Interface with engineering and technical support teams to resolve complex issues and implement corrective actions
Safety, Authorisation & Team Leadership
Act as an Authorised Technician, maintaining strict compliance with GE Vernova and industry electrical safety rules
Lead electrical isolations, switching, and control of work within authorised limits
Conduct task-specific risk assessments and toolbox talks
Supervise and mentor Competent and Authorised Technicians, ensuring safe systems of work and consistent technical standards
Promote continuous improvement through lessons learned and procedural feedback
Required Qualifications
Electrical or Wind Technician apprenticeship, diploma, or degree in Electrical Engineering or related discipline
Demonstrated experience working on LV and HV electrical systems
HVWP1 City & Guilds certification
Desired Experience & Technical Competence
Experience leading commissioning or electrical teams offshore (wind, oil & gas, or other marine HV environments)
Authorised Person (AP) experience within an MV or HV framework
Proven HV switching experience on 11 kV and 33 kV systems
Strong understanding of protection systems, electrical safety rules, and commissioning methodologies
High competence in reading and validating electrical drawings and schematics
Extensive hands-on experience with electrical testing, measurement, and diagnostic equipment
Ability to lead technical teams, maintain discipline offshore, and develop technician capability
Additional relevant certifications (e.g. HV Safety, Electrical Authorisation, Certified Electrical Technician)
