Investigate and analyze complex controls issues occurring in the fleet of installed turbines and develop corrective actions.
Cooperate with the Loads and Validation teams to analyze the impact of the controls strategy on the mechanical loads of the turbine in simulation and through the evaluation of measurement data
Provide key wind turbine controls expertise through all phases of product development from requirements definition through design and development, validation and product life-cycle support
Effectively communicate and provide recommendations through the analysis, preparation and presentation of technical data to internal and external GE customers using reports, records, and letters
Contribute to the continuous improvement of the controller development and loads simulation infrastructure
Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or Science from an accredited University or equivalent knowledge or experience
Strong engineering experience
Significant wind turbine controls experience
Fluency in English

Advanced degree (MSc, PhD) with a focus on controls, wind energy, or system dynamics
Good understanding of classical (transfer functions, frequency domain design, etc) and modern (state-space, optimal control, etc) control theory
Experience with Model-Based design of control systems
Experience with state estimation techniques (e.g. EKF)
Proficiency in Matlab/Simulink or similar program
Experience with real-time control systems such as the GE MarkVIe
Ability to code in at least least one programming language such as C or Delphi
Wind turbine product knowledge
Experience with the grid market including renewable integration and required services
Track record of filing Invention Disclosure Letters and patent applications
