Required Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in Engineering Discipline (Nuclear, Mechanical, Chemical, or similar) from an accredited college or university
3+ years of experience in Nuclear Plant Safety Analysis
Eligibility Requirements
The preferred work location for this role is at the GEH Headquarters in Wilmington, NC; but highly qualified (US based) remote candidates will be considered.
Comfortable with less than 10% travel
This role is restricted to U.S. persons (i.e., U.S. citizens, permanent residents, and other protected individuals under the Immigration and Naturalization Act, 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3)) due to access to U.S. export-controlled technology. GE will require proof of U.S. person status prior to employment.
Desired Characteristics
Experience in ECCS LOCA, Containment, HELB, Fire Safe Shutdown, Annulus Pressurization Loads, and Reactor Internals Pressure Difference analyses, and/or
Experience in BWR plant thermal hydraulic Stability safety analysis & methods including plant noise analyses, PRNM stability interface, stability setpoints methodology, and frequency and time domain methodologies.
M.S. Degree in Nuclear Engineering with experience in T/H modeling as applied to nuclear reactor systems.
Experience with BWR technology, BWR ECCS LOCA analysis, and BWR Stability analysis to support applicable regulatory requirements.
Knowledge of plant operational support in the Stability area
Knowledge of reactor licensing requirements
Experience with BWR simulator and use of 3-D neutron kinetics (e.g., PANAC)
Experience with BWR/PWR T/H systems codes such as TRACG, RELAP & TRACE
Experience in Best Estimate methodology development (e.g., TRACG LOCA / Stability)
Experience with Best Estimate and CSAU applications
Programming experience such as C#, FORTRAN, or PYTHON
Demonstrated high energy and the ability to energize others

The base pay range for this position is $86-122k. The specific pay offered may be influenced by a variety of factors, including the candidate's experience, education, and skill set. This position is also eligible for bonuses, such as a performance bonus/variable incentive compensation/equity. This position is expected to close on 8/19/2024.
The company pays a geographic differential of 110%, 120%, or 130% of salary in certain areas.
