    Position summary

    latory Affairs teams in Canada, United States, United Kingdom, and other countries in support of the nuclear regulatory review process.

    • Interface with customers, regulatory personnel, contractors, and industry working groups on regulatory issues, and to secure applicable permissions and approvals related to work scopes.

    Required Qualifications

    • Bachelor's Degree in a science or engineering discipline from an accredited university or college with a minimum of 2 years of related professional work experience.

    • Must have the skill to write clearly and concisely using plain language (English) .

    • Must have the skills to construct persuasive safety case safety cases using a claims, arguments, and evidence model.

    • Must have the skills to read and understand engineering documents to establish the claims, arguments, and evidence associated with various regulatory topics.

    • Must have the skills to develop counterarguments to alternative positions being considered to ensure that potential counter points have been considered and can be addressed.

    • Must have the skills verbal communication to establish rapport with various stakeholders and colleagues to facilitate efficient and effective working relationships (English and Polish) .

    • Master's or Doctoral Degree in a science or engineering discipline from an accredited university or college with a minimum of 1 year of related professional work experience.

    • Proven experience performing / providing input into nuclear safety evaluations, including satisfaction of regulatory requirements for nuclear regulatory documents.

    • Proven experience involving complex projects and providing regulatory guidance and feedback to support those projects.

    • Position requires excellent technical writing skills and oral communication skills in English, and for a select group of candidates in Polish, with the demonstrated ability to create technical reports suitable for a wide range of audiences based on technical engineering and safety analysis input written in English as a primary requirement.

    Desired Characteristics

    • Proven experience with Polish nuclear requirements and guidance, including new power plant pre-application interactions with the PAA including nuclear reactor siting and deployment activities preferred,

    OR

    • Proven experience in licensing activities for commercial nuclear power plants in European Union Countries with established regulatory authorities or in Canada with the Canadian Nuclear Safety Commission (CNSC).

    • Working knowledge of International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) Nuclear Safety Standards and other nuclear safety-related IAEA publications.

    • Management experience in Regulatory Affairs or large engineering projects including new or operating commercial nuclear reactor facilities.

    • Working knowledge of boiling water reactor (BWR) systems, fuel, or operations, with specific experience with Advanced Boiling Water Reactor (ABWR) or Economic Simplified Boiling Water Reactor (ESBWR) engineering or licensing preferred.

    • Experience and demonstrated effectiveness in working with nuclear regulators including effective interpersonal and facilitation skills and good verbal and written communication skills.

    • Experience working with nuclear industry groups.

    • Process skills related to coordinating and preparing complex technical documents based on commercial nuclear power plant technologies.

    • Externally focused: takes action to enhance the reputation of the company / represents the company well at all opportunities.

    • Clear thinker: communicates messages clearly and concisely with the ability to make decisions with speed and accuracy based on the best available information / ability to sift through complex information and focus on critical few priorities.

    • Assess potential impacts of regulatory landscape on business and customers.

    • Strong business and financial acumen.

    • Ability to work effectively with technical leaders.

    GEH will only employ those who are legally authorized to work in their country of residency, including Poland for those residing in or voluntarily relocating to Poland for this opening. Relocation assistance is negotiable for those residing outside of Poland. Position is open to citizens of Poland as well as other countries that are on the generally authorized list under the United States Department of Energy's Part 810 Regulations.

    This position requires access to and/or use of information subject to control under the United States Department of Energy's Part 810 Regulations (10 CFR Part 810) and the Export Administration Regulations (15 CFR Parts 730 through 774) (collectively, "US Export Control Laws"). Therefore, the applicant must be able to be authorized to access and/or use such information under United States Export Control Laws and any applicable import/export requirements in Poland and in regard to their citizenship status in one or more countries.
