Job Description
As a Research engineer, you will:
Write and orally represent the research to its business customers and at technical conferences
Work with multi-disciplinary boarder team or independently deliver based on the requirements of project
Deliver on technical projects with set timelines and cost
Gain an in-depth understanding of key business drivers and use this understanding to accomplish own work.
Gain an in-depth understanding of how work of own team integrates with other teams and contributes to the area.
Use some level of judgment and has ability to propose different solutions outside of set parameters but with guidance. Use prior experience and on-the-job training to solve straightforward tasks. Have access to technical skills and analytic thinking required to solve problems. May use multiple internal sources outside of own team to arrive at decisions.
Have proven interpersonal skills and provide informal guidance to new team members
Required Qualifications
Doctorate degree in Electrical Engineering or related field with atleast 1 year of experience or a Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field with at least 4 years of industry experience in an advanced technology development environment with designing, building and testing power systems
Demonstrated expertise in power system operation and optimization.
Strong expertise in power system simulation and analysis
Understanding of grid energy management systems
Understanding of power system dynamics, transients, protection and stability
Hands-on hardware design and build experience in power systems experimental set-up
Experience in system simulation tools such as PSCAD, Matlab/Simulink, DigSilent etc.
Excellent communication and presentation skills
Ability to work independently as well as in collaborative team environment
Unfailing dedication to deadlines and commitments
Desired Characteristics
Strong oral and written communication skills. Demonstrated ability to analyze and resolve problems. Ability to document, plan, market, and execute programs. Established project management skills.
Experience in power system optimization, dispatch, energy management systems and grid integration
Experience in Python, C++, Visual Studio
Understanding of Signal Processing
Experience in Artificial Intelligence/Machine Learning (AI/ML) applications to Power Systems is an added advantage
