    Position summary

    camera system integration to engine/rig and support testing and data post-processing.

    • Adhere to business standards, practices, procedures, & product requirements.

    • Leverage prior mechanical design experience and broaden knowledge of one's own technical discipline to meet product deliverables within schedule & budget constraints.

    • Demonstrate systems thinking mentality to understand how work of one's team integrates with others to achieve product requirements.

    • Exhibit autonomy to make decisions within a defined requirements framework while resolving design challenges in situations which require technical knowledge & judgment.

    • Review designs and consult with senior technical leaders for evaluation of work.

    • Develop strong internal and external customer relationships by serving as an interface point within GE Aerospace.

    • Will be required to lead an IR team.

    Required Qualifications

    • Master's or advanced degree in Optics, Physics or mechanical engineering from an accredited university.

    • Minimum of 3 years of experience in infra-red system design and temperature measurements for aerospace applications (engines and rigs testing).

    • Due to the nature of the duties of this position, this role requires the individual to obtain and maintain US Government Security Clearance; prerequisite for a security clearance is U.S. citizenship

    Desired Characteristics

    • Minimum of 3 years' experience in optical design engineering position.

    • Experience with optical tools such as Zemax, finite element analysis software such as ANSYS and 3D modelling software such as NX Unigraphics.

    • Experience with thermal measurements in aerospace application (Turbines, combustors,)

    • Prior experience in driving application-centric delivery of IR camera technologies for customer funded projects is very beneficial.

    • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, including presentation of technical information.

    • Demonstrated ability to analyze & solve technical design challenges with sound documentation, planning, & program management skills.

    • Highly motivated and passionate.

    • Ability to document, plan, market, and execute programs.
