Collaborate with cross-functional teams, such as engineers, chemists, and maintenance technicians to troubleshoot equipment issues and optimize production processes.
Follow safety procedures and guidelines when handling and using cleaning agents and equipment.
Metallurgical Laboratory (Metlab) Tasks: Prepare samples for metallurgical analysis using cutting, grinding, polishing, and etching techniques. Conduct metallurgical tests and examinations, such as microstructure analysis, hardness testing, and grain size measurement. Interpret and analyze metallurgical data to identify material properties, defects, and anomalies.
Equipment and Inventory Management: Maintain and calibrate equipment to ensure accurate and reliable performance. Monitor and manage inventory levels of cleaning agents, solvents, consumables, and spare parts. Coordinate with the procurement team to ensure timely availability of materials and supplies.
Compliance and Safety: Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies in all maintenance and repair activities. Conduct risk assessments and implement safety measures to minimize hazards and risks in the MRO shop.
Ability and willingness to lift up to 50 lbs.
Ability and willingness to follow all Services Technology Acceleration Center (STAC) safety regulations.
Ability and willingness to follow all health, waste, and chemical regulations.
FAA DOT drug testing required.
Required Qualifications:
Associate degree or a High School diploma/GED and a minimum 2 years' experience with chemical cleaning and stripping processes in a manufacturing environment.
Desired Characteristics:
Familiar with the operation and maintenance of chemical cleaning and stripping manufacturing production lines
Familiar with the operation and maintenance of robotic grit blasting
Familiar with robot operations and automation
Experience with manufacturing processes such as: Chemical cleaning, chemical stripping, manual & automated grit blast, benching & blending, shot peen, coatings, NDE inspection, fixture design and fabrication, welding & joining
Able to interpret Engine Manual and Standard Practice Manual requirements and institute best practices
Proven ability to deploy and maintain safe working practices
Greenbelt or Six Sigma experience
Strong teamwork skills and experience in a teaming environment
Strong understanding of shop operations
Strong interpersonal and leadership skills
Strong technical aptitude, including applicable engineering tools and systems
Experience applying Lean/Six Sigma to help improve process performance
Demonstrated ability to analyze and resolve problems
Demonstrated history of effective horizontal leadership
Ability to interface with environmental, health and safety to author and institutionalize policies
Leadership ability: Strong communicator, decision maker, collaborative
