Job Description Summary

This role will be responsible for supporting key income statement planning and reporting processes at GE Aerospace primarily supporting the Aerospace Income Statement Leader and Deputy Income Statement Leader with opportunities for broader cross-functional leadership support. The FP&A Income Statement Analyst will be the point of contact for all intra-quarter pacing processes and play a key role supporting all forward-looking income statement reporting and analysis including strategic plan, budget and quarterly forecast. This role will also be responsible for master data governance across all key income statement financial data. This role will report to the Deputy Income Statement Leader.
At least quarterly travel to Cincinnati will be required, if not already co-located with the team.

Job Description

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Design and implement intra-quarter fit-for-purpose standalone GE Aerospace pacing processes, leveraging existing processes that exist today. Improve standard reporting and analytical tools to support detailed financial analysis and operational insights for pacing cycles.
  • Analyze and synthesize intra-quarter pacing financial variances against prior year, prior forecast, budget and external benchmarks. Summarize key variance drivers and observations to Aerospace HQ FP&A Leadership team.
  • Lead master data governance across all key income statement financial data, including master data files supporting actuals reporting, planning cycles and external disclosures. Drive standardization of data to enable consistency, speed and accuracy in all income statement reporting.
  • Prepare standard actuals and forecast financial summary reports for Senior Aerospace Leadership Team and templates to be used by divisional teams. Support analysis and elevation of operational drivers complementing standard reports.
  • Prepare Management Discussion & Analysis (MD&A) supporting analytics for metrics such as Adjusted Revenue, Adjusted Revenue Growth Rate, Adjusted Earnings, Adjusted Margins, Adjusted Earnings Per Share, and other key financial KPIs. Partner with Controllership to ensure alignment of FP&A and Controllership reporting.
  • Prepare and consolidate standard Aerospace total company operating profit walk, ensuring inputs are complete and follow standard definitions. Summarize and synthesize analysis of operating profit drivers for the Aerospace HQ FP&A team.
  • Partner with Tax & Treasury to prepare standard analytical reports supporting actuals and forecast cycles.
  • Support Strategic Finance Leader and Income Statement Leader with Board of Directors materials preparation for actuals and forecast cycles.
  • Partner with Aerospace HQ FP&A team to develop ad hoc & complex analysis on an as-needed basis.
  • Work closely with cash process leader for consistency in files, process, and data management across HQ FP&A team as well as interactions with divisional FP&A teams.

Qualifications / Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree. Minimum 2 years of finance experience.
  • Financial modeling skills. Proficient use of financial systems (https://e.g. Hyperion, Oracle) and analysis tools including Microsoft Office (https://e.g. Excel, Word, PowerPoint).

Desired Characteristics

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Finance or Accounting.

  • Advanced financial analytics/modeling skills.

  • Prior FP&A role, ideally with Corporate HQ consolidation and external reporting experience. Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities. Self-starter/team player.

  • Experience with business process redesign and/or LEAN.
