Job Description Summary

Process engineer to be responsible for the design, operation, and implementation of NDT, platform removal, part marking, profilometry, and grit blasting processes for additive hardware. Individual will successfully industrialize processes to improve efficiency, reduce cost, reduce cycle time, and enable additive complexity.

Job Description

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Develop, configure, and optimize industrial processes from inception through start up and certification
  • Assess processes, take measurements, interpret data, and document results
  • Effectively communicate project outcomes to senior leadership
  • Lead projects intended to design, run, test and upgrade systems and processes
  • Develop best practices, routines and innovative solutions to improve technology and processes related to additive post processing. Specifically, processes related to NDE, wire EDM, bandsaw, and grit blasting.
  • Develop and audit process specific work instructions
  • Perform risk assessments and implement abatements
  • Provide process documentation and operating instructions

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college (or a high school diploma / GED with at least 4 years of experience in manufacturing or design engineering.

Desired Characteristics

  • Lean Six Sigma experience and/or formal training

  • CAD experience, particularly Unigraphics NX

  • Experience with NDE technologies, particularly CT, FPI, x-ray, and UT

  • Formal training or 3+ years of manufacturing experience

  • Formal training or 3+ years of experience with GD&T

  • Knowledge of process related standards of GE Aviation

  • Analytical thinker with interpersonal skills
