At Avio Aero, a GE Aviation Business unit, we’ve been reimagining the power of flight for more than 100 years. We are specialized in the design, production and maintenance of components and systems for both the civil and military aviation.

In your role, you will be responsible to lead and execute the required Design for Additive and prototyping tasks to prove the full producibility of the assigned hardware.
You will be working in a very young and innovative environment with the aim to mature and properly exploit this amazing disruptive technology.

Job Description

Essential Responsibilities

• Coordinate and execute assigned design for additive projects to progress additive manufacturing/technology readiness and robustness

• Oversee Build Design optimization for reaching producibility targets of the whole manufacturing process

• Assist design owner/system leader to concur on additive producible solutions (considering the full manufacturing process)

• Design with additive logic the assigned PNs and develop/consolidate relative Business cases

• Support the definition and evolution of additive roadmap within the organization (including Material development and innovative post-processing technologies) in order to reach company goals

• According with all the lesson learnt provide feedback to improve/align current DPs and methods

• Proactively support and/or execute other Engineering tasks and initiatives

• Participate as a lead presenter in technical and project reviews.

• Assure proper documentation of technical data generated for the assigned projects and/or tasks are consistent with engineering policies and procedures

Qualifications/Requirements

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering from an accredited University

• Strong experience in design for additive role for aeronautic components

• Previous experience in build optimization

• Previous experience in process simulation

• Knowledge of key aeronautical engines layout, architecture and mechanical systems arrangements

• Ability to work under pressure with other team members

• Ability to produce clear, concise reports and other documentation, of appropriate quality

• Fluency in English and Italian language, both written and oral

• Work Visa, in accordance with local regulation, and Italian citizenship are required
