Role Overview
Develop reusable parametric CAD master models, improve modeling methods, review, approve and issue models.
Apply engine design control structure (associatively linked interfaces); create interfaces and control within the engine design control structure.
Develop, review, and release drawings (drafting) and list utilizing knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T); assure high quality of drawings according to requirements.
Understand and apply knowledge of assembly methods onto drawings to deliver products that meet quality, cost, and schedule.
Create, manage, and execute design and configuration changes across the lifecycle of the product.
Demonstrate strong and broad application of design practices, engineering standards and specifications.
Understand and manage model-based product definition (digital product definition) creation and consumption from concept to disposal.
Guide less experienced engineers in product definition.
Document technical data generated by assigned projects consistent with engineering policies and procedures.
Experience in mechanical design and design for manufacturing.
Ability to use Siemens Teamcenter Visualization Mockup.
Collaborate with other engineering disciplines to incorporate concepts to meet design intent.
The Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate should be proficient in CAD software and 3D modeling tools, with a strong understanding of engineering principles and design standards. They must be detail-oriented and possess a high level of accuracy in creating and reviewing technical drawings. Excellent problem-solving skills are essential to address design challenges effectively. The candidate should have strong communication skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams and ensure that all drawings and models meet safety, quality, and regulatory requirements. Additionally, experience in managing and maintaining design documentation and revisions is crucial for success in this role.
Required Qualifications
BSc or MSc degree in Mechanical Engineering or Aeronautical Engineering
Minimum 5 years of related hands-on experience in engineering or other technical positions.
Excellent command of written and spoken English.
Effective problem identification and solution skills.
Proficiency in the use of CAD modeling programs and PLM software, preferably in Siemens Teamcenter and Siemens Unigraphics NX.
Strong user of computer aided design (CAD), and PLM softwares, preferably in Siemens NX, and Siemens Teamcenter.
Strong user of geometric dimensioning and tolerancing as it relates to individual parts and overall assemblies (ASME Y14.5)
Preferred Qualifications
Preferably experience in areas such as aviation, gas turbine or internal combustion engine design.
Adaptable to work with teams from various cultures, understand behavioral and communicational differences, open to flex work style as necessary.
Have understanding of Lean at Engineering or open to learn and adapt Lean principles.
Project management and communication skills, able to monitor project status, business issues, significant milestones.
Ability to multi-task effectively in a result oriented, risk managing approach.
Proven self-starter and quick learner who can work with cross-functional teams.
