Job Description Summary

The Composites Lead Sourcing Specialist will negotiate the procurement and contracts for composite parts and/or materials and ensure compliance to all GE Aviation policies and procedures, while achieving the best overall value. You will be responsible for purchase order placement and execution, supplier strategy and capacity development, cost idea generation and execution, and supplier performance management.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Manage relationships with suppliers for purchase order execution
  • Place and follow-up on POs
  • Manage problems and schedule changes
  • Update ERP
  • Manage timely negotiations and purchase order placements
  • Adhere to GE Aviation compliance, quality, cost, and delivery requirements
  • Develop and implement strategy for assigned and new suppliers
  • Drive cost out projects and initiatives within supply base
  • Collaborate with team members and various functions to execute source changes and coordinate raw material
  • Work cross-functionally with engineering and manufacturing teams to drive cost, delivery, quality, and supplier development
  • Balances both tactical execution with strategic initiatives necessary to drive cost reduction projects
  • Actively participate in supplier performance review

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree from an accredited college or institution (or a high school diploma/GED and a minimum of 4 years experience in Manufacturing, Sourcing or Materials)
  • Plus a minimum of 3 years' experience in Manufacturing, Quality, Materials, Sourcing or Supply Chain Operations

  • Ability to utilize Excel for data analysis

  • Strong interpersonal and leadership skills

  • Ability to influence others and lead small teams

  • Effective problem identification and solution skills

  • Ability to document, plan, market, and execute programs
