    Working at our Vandalia Facilities

    Our Vandalia facility is located 50 minutes north of the GE Aerospace headquarters and sits just north of the city of Dayton-known widely as the birthplace of aviation-where the Wright Brothers built the world's first aircraft in their bicycle shop in the heart of downtown Dayton. This business boasts a rich history, in operation for over 100 years. At over 140,000 square feet, the Vandalia facility rests on 27 acres right off Interstate 75.

    At GE Aerospace in Vandalia, we specialize in manufacturing and servicing world-class power generation and electrical control and distribution equipment for a variety of military and commercial customers. Vandalia is also home to a product development lab where operators and engineers work together to invent the future of flight.

    Role Overview

    The Materials Planning & Execution Specialist is responsible for production control activities within the production cell. This includes work order management according to the production schedule, transactional responsibility for materials in cell, participating in and leading process improvements, coordinating outside processes, identifying and tracking material shortages, and supporting the production team. This position is located onsite in Vandalia, OH.

    Roles and Responsibilities

    • Manage work orders in accordance with the production schedule from release to completion, including shortage tracking, scrap replacements, and outside processes.

    • Relay material shortages to the sourcing and planning functions and communicate shortage impacts to the operations/production team through fulfillment.

    • Maintain a status of all work in process (WIP) and coordinate with the production supervisor/coach on upcoming work order releases to align with the production schedule and customer commitments.

    • Attend regular operating rhythms and be prepared to discuss material status, delinquency/delivery, and schedule changes.

    • Participate in and lead process improvement projects, value stream mapping events, and action workouts.

    • Work in a cross-functional team to support the production personnel, identify issues, implement corrective actions, and drive lean initiatives/improvements.

    Required Qualifications

    • Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college (or a high school diploma / GED with at least 4 years of experience in materials and/or production planning/scheduling)

    • This role requires use of technical data subject to U.S. Government contract restrictions and this posting is only for U.S. Citizens. GE will require proof of status.

    Preferred Qualifications

    • Experience with ERP (Oracle R12 preferred) and understanding of business KPI's around cost, inventory, and cash flow.

    • Ability to influence others; strong interpersonal and leadership skills

    • Strong oral and written communications skills

    • Focus driven to work through problems and implement a sustainable solution

    This role requires access to U.S. export-controlled information. If applicable, final offers will be contingent on ability to obtain authorization for access to U.S. export-controlled information from the U.S. Government.
