Coordinating and generating responses to customer technical inquiries on GT and GTAE
Oversight of GT and GTAE repair and commissioning activities
Coordinating OEM field service representative (FSR) requirements in support of the commissioning of GT and GTAE systems.
Oversight of OEM FSR work activities and completion to include shipyard approval as necessary with supporting documentation.
On-site inspection and supervision of OEM FSRs dispatched in support of GT and GTAE systems.
Auxiliary system-to-gas turbine integration checks as well as GTAE system checks
After market service support of GT and GTAE system
Participate in meetings with Shipyards and Navy during installation, setting to work (STW), harbor acceptance trials (HAT) and sea acceptance trials (SAT).
Participate in IHQ meetings, as required.
Attend GE-sponsored technical hands-on training when available, e.g. borescope, hot section, cold section, controls, etc.
Administrative duties, as assigned.
Quilifications/Requirements:
Higher Secondary School Certificate (HSSC) or current equivalent, with at least 5+ years of experience with aero-derivative gas turbines.
Up to 50% travel required including naval vessel underway periods at sea.
Willing and able to travel internationally.
Must be proficient in Microsoft 365 products (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
Valid driving license and passport
Desired Characteristics:
Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college
Strong oral and written communication skills.
Naval or merchant navy ship construction / shipyard background
Ability to read and understand electrical schematics
Ability to read and understand control schematics
Prior naval or merchant navy engineering rating a plus.
A minimum of 2 years of experience specialising in marine propulsion or power generation maintenance, repair or inspection experience at the engineer or technician level, concentrating on the specific application of gas turbines
Additional consideration given to candidates who are GE OEM Level 2 trained (or naval gas turbine inspector training,) with 5 years gas turbine inspection experience or possessing 10 years marine /merchant navy / industrial gas turbine inspection experience.
This position requires candidate to routinely work on an as-needed and on-call basis
