Continued employment throughout the program is contingent upon obtaining your FAA Repairman certificate (within 24 months) and FAA Powerplant certificate (within 36 months). In this program you will be based at one of GE Aviation's newest, state-of-the-art facilities in Lafayette, Indiana where we support new jet engine assembly for the LEAP and Passport engines as well as overhaul for the LEAP engine. We have a teaming structure, which means we're made up of multiple self-directed teams that operate as interconnected business units driving safety, quality, delivery, and cost goals. This structure offers our team members a high degree of flexibility and professional development. As a Powerplant Technician Apprentice, you'll be supporting our MRO business and will have the opportunity to build a fulfilling aviation career at GE.
Job Description
Roles and Responsibilities:
• Maintain, repair, and overhaul jet engines
• Drive team safety and quality investigations and corrective actions
• Participate in a flexible, team-based workforce
• Work on a team and take an active role in sitewide decision-making
• Cross-train and learn multiple job scopes
• Utilize planning software and various computer programs on a daily basis
• Work under the direction of powerplant certificated technicians
Qualifications:
• High School Diploma/GED
• At least three years of manufacturing or mechanical experience required
