Job Description Summary

The Senior Electronic Design Engineer is responsible to drive the HW development in design, validation and testing of embedded electronic systems for avionics, based on mixed signals HW boards, for both full authority-based (https://e.g. FADEC) and hybrid electric-based propulsion control systems.
He/She is also responsible oo liaise with independent organization or suppliers to provide technical and programmatic guidance on design, validation and testing activities, technology accrual plan outlining and execution. To perform, with very limited guidance, analysis and evaluation of the third parties’ deliverables compliance with product/program requirements and business standards, practices and procedures.

Job Description

Essential Responsibilities

  • To analyze, define or validate system and subsystem requirements and data,

  • To define, develop and document electronic and electrical systems/subsystems, for avionics applications, through the entire product lifecycle.

  • To carry out trade-off, analysis and validation studies aiming at drawing the optimal electronic assembly/sub-assembly architectural solutions.

  • To support and perform testing, validation activities, system integration, to assure the compliance with product/program requirements.

  • To liaise with the engineering team stakeholders in the execution of the project development, product definition, technology maturation activities.

  • To drive suppliers steering and performance monitoring

  • To drive the formulation and implementation of plans to achieve technical requirements and schedules commitments.

  • To guide the implementation of qualification and certification process

  • To guide technical and program reviews.

Qualifications / Requirements

  • Master's Degree in Engineering, Electronics preferred

  • Sound experience in electronic HW design within engineering roles

  • Strong ability to analyze, define and validate project requirements.

  • Experience in HW design of board based on uC, FPGA or SoC, ADCs, high speed bus and memories

  • Experience in datasheets analysis, component trade-off and selection

  • Experience in design, simulation and testing of analog and digital circuits

  • Knowledge of interface for sensors and actuators

  • Experience with analog and digital high speed signals and related PCB constraints

  • Knowledge of VHDL or Verilog

  • Experience in troubleshooting and testing activities and usage of instruments for hw debug and testing (oscilloscopes, signal generators, etc)

  • Proficiency in written and oral English and Italian.

  • Work Permit, according to local regulation, is required

Desired Characteristics

  • Experience with bus and standards for on-board and board-to-board communication

  • Knowledge of signal integrity and EMI aspects applied in design and testing activities

  • Strong knowledge of eCAD for HW design and simulation (Altium preferred).

  • Strong team-work & commitment skills.

  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
