Job Description
Roles and Responsibilities
Leads component, module, and system level design activities.
Manages product and systems requirements, specifications, and flow-down.
Drives validation and verification activities for the overall product/system, including system level testing.
Manages interface between design, systems, and execution organizations.
Establishes product requirements (internal and external), defines components and sub systems making up the overall architecture.
Provides forward looking strategy for platforms and technology development / insertion to make product competitive.
Defines and provides scope management. (defines the what).
Developing specialized knowledge in their discipline. Serves as best practice/quality resource.
Has awareness of latest technical developments in own area.
Contributes towards strategy and policy development, and ensure delivery within area of responsibility.
Has in-depth knowledge of best practices and how own area integrates with others; has working knowledge of competition and the factors that differentiate them in the market
Uses judgment to make decisions or solve moderately complex tasks or problems in areas of operational/product management, manufacturing, technology or engineering.
Takes new perspective on existing solutions.
Uses technical experience and expertise for data analysis to support recommendations.
Uses multiple internal and limited external sources outside of own function to arrive at decisions.

Required Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in Engineering from an accredited university or college.
Minimum of 6 years of mechanical design or systems integration experience.
Minimum of 6 years of experience in Aerospace or equivalent industry.
Minimum of 6 years of commercial/military booster and/or compressor design experience
Desired Characteristics
Master's degree from an accredited university or college.
Exposure to aviation engine design or certification requirements
10 years of experience in design/development of turbomachinery
Strong oral and written communication skills.
Strong interpersonal and leadership skills.
Communicate and coordinate clearly with internal and external partners.
Communicate concisely and appropriately with both internal and external senior leadership teams.
Demonstrated ability to analyze and resolve problems.
Demonstrated ability to lead programs / projects.
Ability to document, plan, market, and execute programs.
Established project management skills.
Passionate about giving & receiving mentorship.
Prior experience working with global cross-functional teams.
Able to work both in a global team and individually.
10 years of experience in an Engineering position, especially with global and cross-functional teams.
Ability to guide and influence others.
Demonstrated process orientation in approach to work.
