Job Description Summary

This is a great opportunity for a highly motivated and dynamic individual who is interested in expanding their overall technical skillset while influencing the company’s technical strategy. This individual should have a detailed mindset, affinity for problem solving, and a natural interest in technology.

The Technology Strategy Group is responsible for delivering a consistent technology strategy within the Avionics business while coordinating technologies across other Profit & Loss centers within the Aviation Systems division. In addition, this group is closely partnered with the Avionics business strategy team.

Job Description

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Research into emerging technologies and their applications.

  • Technical strategy and roadmap development.

  • Definition of Internal Research & Development Technical Objectives.

  • Collaboration with GE Global Research Center on technology activities.

  • Cross-business collaboration with other GE divisions including Dowty, Unison and Power.

  • Customer and supplier interactions.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering or related engineering degree from an accredited university or college.

  • Minimum of 12 years professional experience in engineering.

Desired Characteristics:

  • Domain expertise in embedded development.

  • Experience with the following technologies:

DevSecOps

Cybersecurity

Continuous Integration and Delivery

Containerization

Machine Learning / Artificial Intelligence

  • Domain expertise in civil or military avionic architectures.

  • Strong oral and written communication skills.

  • Strong interpersonal and leadership skills.

  • Self-starter / ability to work independently.

  • Demonstrated ability to analyze and resolve complex problems.

  • Enthusiasm for mentoring up and coming engineers.
