Role

Working for the Controllers business as a Software Engineer on a 777X programme you will be part of a team of engineering professionals with a range of experience at all levels. You must be comfortable working in a diverse and highly capable team, you will play a key part in developing systems / software that will fly around world. You will be solving technical problems whilst adhering to customer driven schedules. You will need to communicate clearly with your peers and your team leaders to provide clear status updates, whilst also identifying any technical risks and opportunities that you may be aware of. As you gain experience there may come times when you would be expected to represent the projects interests to the customer directly, this can sometimes require travel. This role will provide you with a challenging and incredibly rewarding career. You will be playing a pivotal role in developing are contributing to the safe transport of people and goods around the globe!

The Role & Essential Responsibilities 

  • Capturing, understanding and documenting the software requirements for assigned system functionality.
  • Creating, updating and maintaining software architecture and designs for implementation in various languages (such as C C / C++, Phython, SQL).
  • Understanding and implementing software verification strategies.
  • Creating, updating and performing software tests.
  • Working to rigorous development standards
  • Authoring technical documentation as required and ensuring compliance with the relevant engineering policies and procedures and standards.

Qualifications / Requirements

  • Experience of the software design lifecycle within aerospace, automotive or similar embedded software development environment, this could have been gained through a placement / internship, or, from direct work experience
  • Familiar with designing and implementing real-time embedded software.
  • Awareness of different software verification strategies and test equipment.
  • Creating, updating and performing software tests.
  • Awareness of RTCA DO-178B/C, DAL level A or B, or similar.
  • Awareness of target hardware.
  • Ability to execute and solve problems autonomously.
  • A degree from an accredited university or college or equivalent level of knowledge and experience
