The Test Systems Engineering Sub-Section Manager is responsible for leading and developing a team of skilled engineers that define and execute critical technology maturation rigs for commercial Next Gen. Products. The Sub-Section manager demonstrates accountability for functional, business, and broad company objectives. This role will integrate and develop processes to manage complex issues within functional areas of expertise, be involved in long-term planning, and contribute to overall business strategies.

Roles and Responsibilities
Manage a small- to medium-sized team of engineers who define requirements, facility and data system capabilities, and technology maturation test plans.
Influences the development of strategy in test systems, and engine and component test technology, including control of resources and influences policy formulation.
Establish team goals within the framework of section and department business objectives and recommends best practices to improve products, processes or services. Maintains broad awareness within group to assure technical excellence, timely completion of projects, appropriate use of resources, and responsiveness to customer needs. Stays informed of industry trends that may inform work.
Promote professional growth through timely performance feedback, coaching and counseling.
Lead functional teams or projects with minimal resource requirements, risk, and/or complexity. Communicate difficult concepts and influence others' options on particular topics.
Uses high level of judgment to make decisions and handle complex tasks or problems in areas of operational, product management, manufacturing, technology or engineering. Has ability to assess quality of information given and ask pertinent questions to stakeholders. Able to offer new solutions to problems outside of set parameters and is able to construct and provide recommendations. Uses multiple internal and some external sources outside of own function to help arrive at a decision.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor of Science in Engineering, Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, or Computer Science from an accredited university or college.
Minimum of 10 years experience in a program or project leadership role within an engineering environment.
Minimum of 5 years of experience in aerospace industry.
Ability to travel out of state a minimum of 10% annually.
Desired Characteristics
Mater's degree in Engineering from an accredited college or university.
Demonstrated ability to lead and influence across the matrix.
Experience with GE NPI Tollgate and Military Qualification processes.
Direct people-leadership experience.
Strong oral and written communication skills.
Strong interpersonal and leadership skills.
