In this role you will be responsible for the development of advanced chassis technologies with a focus on control requirements, design, calibration and testing for mechatronic systems. You will be part of a cross-functional team, working with GM engineers, suppliers, and academia to leverage invention/ideation in order to develop and verify proof of concept solutions for future GM products.

Key Responsibilities:
Lead and support chassis systems advanced technology projects that develop novel components, systems and customer centric features
Lead Advance Technology Work (ATW)s
Develop project scope, deliverables, timelines, and budget
Lead execution and evaluation of designs, analysis, development, testing and control of advanced engineering projects where creativity and initiative are involved as well as a high level of independent judgment
Manage a cross-functional team through a staged gate process to achieve the project milestones
Determine control algorithm requirements, including system robustness, diagnostics and arbitration strategies
Create and apply behavioral models in MatLab/Simulink then integrate with plant model (Adams) and a vehicle model, such as CarSim, to determine system performance and interactions
Rapid prototype behavioral models into Simulation environment, HIL bench, DiL simulator or vehicles using dSPACE MicroAutoBox solution
Define and document required system interfaces, performance metrics and required sub-system tests
Define and develop the calibration strategy for vehicle performance
Stay abreast of new technology and competitive products
Some travel as required
Required Skills, Experience and Education
In-depth engineering design knowledge in one or more of:
Vehicle dynamics understanding and ability to evaluate in simulation or in-vehicle
Hands-on C/C++ programming experience
Demonstrated self-starter who can work independently and deal with ambiguity
Understanding of Design Failure Modes & Effects Analysis (DFMEA)
3 or more years of controls and/or diagnostic related development, test or validation experience
Experience creating MatLab/SimuLink models
Understanding of vehicle modelling tools such as CarSim or CarMaker and ability to integrate with SimuLink models
High level of interpersonal skills to work independently and effectively with others
Excellent oral and written communication skills
High level of analytical ability where problems are unusual and difficult
Performance Driving capability
BS in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering
Ability to legally operate a motor vehicle
Ability to travel as needed (up to 10%)
