Job Description
As a member of the Supply Chain team, you will be responsible for support in one of the key areas: manufacturing/warehouse operations, supply chain systems and processes, launch execution and scheduling and material management.
You will act as a liaison between purchasing, engineering, warehousing/manufacturing, logistics and suppliers to resolve issues and to provide support. .
Responsibilities include:
- Supports Business Plan Deployment (BPD) development and is accountable for scorecard achievement for Level 4/5.
- Leads / Supports GMS implementation and is Subject Matter Expert for Short Lead-time.
- Works closely with Material Follow- up Coordinators (MFC) for seamless coordination between production floor, Office, and Warehouse operations.
Safety:
- Responsible for effective leadership and compliance with GM/UAW Material Storage and Stacking and Dock Safety Requirements.
- Ensures compliance to Hazardous Material requirements.
- Coordinates prompt resolution of safety and ergonomics issues escalated through Employee Safety Concerns, Pedestrian Industrial Vehicle (PIV) Committee, and Safety Observation Tours (SOT), etc.
- Ensures active SOT process with and T/L's.
- Support, lead, coach and teach Workplace Organization (WPO).
People:
- Builds effective culture supporting GMS / team based environment.
- Coaches / Develops Hourly Team Leaders.
- Addresses Labor Relations issues and maintains compliance to Local Contract.
- Builds effective relationships with Production team and other cross functional support departments.
- Builds effective relationships with UAW committee.
- Inputs Kronos daily.
Quality:
- Ensures compliance of GMS SLT elements which support Built-in Quality (BIQ) requirements.
- Ensures successful execution of part changes on the floor.
- Conduct effective layered audits and follow-up on countermeasures.
Responsiveness:
- Achieves aggressive Responsiveness targets to minimize downtime impact on Production operations.
- Responds promptly to responsiveness issues including containment and irreversible corrective actions.
- Engages in the Throughput Improvement Process (TIP) process as necessary.
- Involved in Plan For Every Part (PFEP) activities.
Cost:
- Actively supports productivity / efficiency improvements.
- Oversees scrap performance related to material handling damage / issues.
- Achieves monthly department budget targets.
Additional Job Description

- Oral and written communication skills.
- High level of interpersonal skills to work effectively with others, motivate employees and elicit work output.
- Extensive experience with GMS Short-Lead-Time implementation (SLT) and execution.
- Experience in leading and developing hourly Team Leaders.
Flexibility to work 1st, 2nd, and 3rd shift.
Basic Preferred:
1-3 years of experience.
Education and Training
Bachelor's Degreeor equivalent training/Military experience.
