Job Description
Understand core strategies, feature requirements, UX requirements and operational process requirements for OTA programming.
Understand and influence architectural deployment of core requirements to specific implementation components (back-office and on-vehicle) to assure that the execution is robust and consistent with core strategies.
Understand implementation project timelines and vehicle program rollout timing.
Develop a comprehensive project plan that clearly enumerates all design, implementation, integration, and validation steps required to execute OTA core strategies in context of project timing.
Manage efforts of cross-functional stakeholders to realize project plan objectives. Maintain clear status of each affected area and provide clear communication of status to appropriate leadership on ongoing basis.
Lead effort to create project-specific Design Failure Mode Effects Analysis (DFMEA) by adapting the core feature DFMEA to the specific project application.
Drive resolution of system level issues surfaced during development process that lack a natural owner or require cross functional coordination.
Participate in feature architectural reviews, integration events, and initial validation events to gain first-hand understanding of status at key milestones.
Provide feedback regarding issues from integration and validation events to drive corrective actions upstream to feature and / or system requirements.
Provide feedback to core deliverable owners on the perceived gaps in the current feature execution to improve future executions.
Provide expert consultation / support during vehicle build events and buy-off rides as needed.
Proactively drive process maturity and harmonized tool usage for requirements definition, interface design, change management, and configuration management.
Travel as required to fulfill responsibilities.

Required Experiences, Skills, and Behaviors:
Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or Computer Science
Minimum of 3 years of embedded system / software or IT systems / software experience
Minimum of 3 years of Project Management experience
Minimum of 3 years working within a structured Systems Engineering environment that included formal Requirements Engineering, Change Management, and Configuration Management processes and tools.
Strong understanding of automotive electrical systems and connectivity technologies
Strong understanding of large-scale IT development processes and operations.
Proactive / results driven individual with high level of initiative and individual accountability.
Strong collaboration, negotiation, and consensus building abilities. Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams and achieve substantial influence without administrative authority.
Strong attention to detail. High level analytical ability where problems are unusual and complex.
Refined oral and written communication skills. Demonstrated ability to summarize concise project status and focus leadership attention on key issues as needed.
Preferred Experiences, Skills, and Behaviors:
Master of Science in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering or Computer Science
5 years of embedded system / software or IT systems / software experience
5 years of Project Management experience
Formal Program and/or Project Management certification
Knowledge of GM electrical architectures and system technologies
Knowledge of GM Global Vehicle Development Process
Knowledge of GM IT Development & Operations Processes
Knowledge of mobile device Over-The-Air update strategies and technologies
Knowledge of Cyber security strategies and technologies
