Job Description
We are looking for a Software Engineer to join our team to support advanced development of radar sensor systems and automated vehicle integration technologies. Responsible for software development which enables efficient testing and evaluation of radar performance. Requires a substantial amount of creativity, initiative and a high level of independent judgment. Shall be proficient at managing numerous radar sensor projects with high degree of difficulty. Responsibilities will be heavily lab based but with some vehicle level software tools. Exercises independent judgment, with minimal input from supervisor.
Responsibilities
Develops radar module sensor drivers for integrating new radars into existing software test environment for visualization, real time processing, and post processing
Develops analytics software for evaluating radar sensors and benchmarking against key performance indicators (KPIs)
Develops software for automated test report generation
Support integration and setup of new radar lab test equipment
Develops software for control, measurement, and data acquisition on new lab test equipment
Managing laboratory software storage repositories, controlling repository access, managing repository version control, and performing software reviews with contributors
Provide detailed documentation, reports, and commenting in code bases
Continuously works with stakeholders and customers, internal and external, US and abroad
Occasionally requiring flexible working hours
Ensure robust engineering, DFSS principles, and data driven decision making

Requirements
Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or Computer Science
2+ years of software development and test experience
Familiarity with Linux (Ubuntu) and Windows based platforms and tools
Python, ROS, Matlab, Docker, and C++ software experience
Software management tools - Git, Azure, and Bitbucket
Network setup and configuration experience, familiarity with network protocols
Strong technical skills in software systems organization and design
Experience writing modular code bases to work in a larger complex software system
Exhibits appropriate interpersonal styles and communication methods to work effectively
High level of analytical ability where problems are unusual and complex
Hybrid: This position does not require an employee to be on-site full-time to perform most effectively. The employee's role enables them to work at a GM facility or off-site as frequently as needed or desired.
This position requires an employee to be onsite 2-4 times per week.
