Job Description
The General Motors Connected Customer Mobility Solutions group is seeking to identify highly motivated and qualified individuals for potential future opportunities as Technical Product Owner. About CCMS
The Connected Customer and Mobility Solutions organization develops, in an Agile/SAFe environment, the technologies enabling a new generation of connected vehicles worldwide. This includes call centers located in multiple countries backed by two world class data centers. Our technology is a key enabler to things like smarter car sharing programs, driver customization opportunities, and advanced active safety systems including autonomous driving. These capabilities exist through the largest implementation of 4G LTE in the automotive industry which enables the capture of extensive amount of vehicle data to our Big Data platform. Our innovation teams are driving game changing technology to the consumer and the automotive industry.

Connected vehicle is the new frontier and the race is on to deliver engaging, meaningful in-vehicle experiences! In this critical role, you will contribute to the development of partner applications implemented in the infotainment systems across GM brands on a global scale and directly impact the partner and developer ecosystems.
Who You Are
As Technical Product Owner, working hand in hand with stakeholders and partners throughout the entire product development lifecycle is key, with a focus on requirements and gathering and storying writing. The main activities of the role are:
To define the Product Backlog and Product Roadmap for the nominated product(s).
Set a clear vision and Release Plan for the product(s)
Constant prioritization of the Product Backlog based on customer feedback, market changes and business priority.
Figure out appropriate product Release Date and Content
Actively manage internal and external partners
Accept or reject the product teams work results at each Sprint Review meeting
Provide regular reporting including product scope, schedule and planning
In addition, key accountabilities and tasks are:
Product Vision and Backlog Management
Working with the product team to provide clear vision, direction and priority of the Product Backlog
Manage / Provide the Partner Sprint Schedule
Get to know the products on various hardware and coordinate in-vehicle and in-field testing with global partners via the OnStar Lab.
Customer Satisfaction
Provide the team with clear information on whom the current and potential customers are, as well as the how, why, when, and with whom they use the product.
Establish open lines of communication with customers in order to bridge the relationship between product development and customers.
Ensure team is developing products that exceed end user expectations
Product Roadmap
Developing the product roadmap to deliver the agreed product(s) in line with business strategy and product management
Communicating the roadmap and technology vision with the Team(s)
Weekly status updates to management on each product across the platforms
Release Management
Put in place a release management plan to figure out versions of the software will be released, to who and when
Ascertain the best time to release products to customers based on project, internal business and market data
Partner Management
Application of techniques to establish, motivate and retain high performance software development and testing teams
Facilitating knowledge transfer within the team alongside encouraging and mentoring a culture of knowledge exchange
Additional Job Description
What You Need
Bachelor's degree in various fields of study are applicable. Computer Science, Engineering, marketing, project management or equivalent experience
5+ experience in a product owner or equivalent role
Ability to set and balance priorities efficiently.
Ability to advocate for partners and ensure efficiencies of implementation across departments
Some knowledge of software development lifecycles (SDLC) and activities.
A clear ability to manage a range of different personality types in a facilitative and mature manner
Positive relationship building skills including the ability to relate constructively to all levels of the organization.
