Minimum qualifications:

• 4 years of experience in product design or UX.

• Experience designing across multiple platforms, and working with technical/design teams to create user flows, wireframes, and build user interface mockups and prototypes.

• A portfolio highlighting multiple projects and direct contributions.

• Ability to speak and write in English fluently.

Preferred qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Design (e.g., interaction, graphic, visual communications, product, industrial, etc), Human-Computer Interaction (HCI), Computer Science (CS), a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 2 years of experience working in a complex, cross-functional organization.
• Familiarity with technical constraints and limitations as they apply to designing for platforms such as desktop and mobile (e.g. Android and iOS).
• Ability to lead and ideate products from scratch and improve features within a user-centered design process.
• Ability to design inclusive products, including accessibility.
• Excellent problem-solving and communication skills, with the ability to influence product design strategy.

Responsibilities

• Partner with Researchers, Designers, and Engineers to directly support the strategic and tactical interaction design needs of the Central Accessibility Team’s assistive technology features.
• Integrate inclusive design best practices into your solutions and iterations.
• Advocate for design-centered changes, refinements, and improvements to solve user needs.
• Share design solutions and contribute actively to the development of accessible patterns that can increase consistency.
• Participate in Accessibility Office Hours to provide technical guidance for design teams.
