Analyst, Machine Learning, Core Finance

Minimum qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.

• 5 years of experience working in finance, management consulting, or a similar environment, including financial planning and analysis (FP&A) and project management.

Preferred qualifications:

• Experience with data center hardware technology and data center capacity planning and budgeting.
• Ability to communicate insights and reasons to technical management teams and align business leaders on recommendations and decisions.
• Ability to effectively influence with executive business partners.
• Excellent financial judgment and project management skills.

As an Analyst, you will support the the Core ML Pillar and collaborate with Finance, Product, and Engineering teams. You'll also collaboratively lead the development of Google-wide processes to review and approve investments. In addition, you will build alignment across a broad set of stakeholders on approach and forums.

In this role, you will focus on understanding where and how Google should invest to support and improve the impact of our investment in Machine Learning hardware, capacity, and software. You'll also be a leader in the Core Finance team and work across business areas and Finance.

Responsibilities

• Support and drive Machine Learning Investments for Google in technical capabilities and compute/machines capacities.
• Partner with the Finance and ML leadership across Google to establish and evolve the right value, impact, and risk metrics to use to measure the impact of ML investments.
• Partner with Machine Learning Pillar leadership and Finance, including Research, Google Cloud, Search, Google Ads, YouTube, and Capital Engineering, to support a current and forecast view of impact.
• Develop and drive quarterly cross-functional operations by planning meetings to align on total Google machines capacity needs.
• Partner with Product and Engineering teams to evaluate the return on investment (ROI) of software and hardware platform innovations to improve the effectiveness of the ML Fleet team.
