Minimum qualifications:
JD, equivalent degree, or equivalent practical experience
Admitted to the bar and in good standing or otherwise authorized to practice law (have registered in-house status) in the state the position is located
3 years of attorney-level experience in a law firm/in-house legal department
Experience advising clients in structuring commercial transactions/commercial agreements
Preferred qualifications:
5 years of legal work experience
Experience drafting bespoke agreements for services agreements, licenses, sponsorship agreements, research collaboration agreements, and IP transfer agreements
Experience working with partnership and business development teams and advising internal product managers and engineering clients
Ability to speak and write in English fluently, with excellent written and verbal communication skills
Excellent organizational skills, with the ability to manage several simultaneous projects under deadlines
Flexibility, creativity, and good judgement in managing legal risks that allow teams operating in a start-up mode to quickly launch and iterate products
In this role, you will work on exciting legal issues as technological innovations require creative and proactive legal guidance. And as a part of this team, you will advise Android business teams and leadership on business legal matters relating to Android products and partnerships, in collaboration with cross-functional teams, including Product, IP, and Litigation Legal teams.
You will be part of a group of in-house lawyers, and the projects and cases you take on will challenge you to think strategically and differently. You will be collaborative, ready to partner on initiatives that influence all aspects of the business, and work with Googlers from all over the company. As an integrated part of the team, you will proactively assess legal risks and advise on products that will not only move information, but move information law forward as well.
You will also advise Jigsaw business teams and leadership on legal matters relating to Jigsaw research, products, and partnerships, in collaboration with cross-functional teams.
