Position summary

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, a related field, or equivalent practical experience.

  • 5 years of experience with 3GPP standards.

  • Experience with Android RIL, Telephony, C and Embedded RTOS.

  • Experience with development in cellular protocol stack (https://e.g., control or data plane).

Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience in 3GPP (https://e.g., NR, LTE, WCDMA).

  • Experience in modem performance analysis and improvement, call performance (https://e.g., CSFB/VoLTE/EPSFB/VoNR, WiFi calling), data performance, connectivity performance, thermal/power performance.

  • Experience in cellular protocol stack including control plane, data plane, NAS/RRC/SDAP/PDCP/RLC/MAC/PHY, ENDC, NRDC.

  • Experience in satellite communication (https://e.g., NB NTN, 5G NTN) or wearable devices with cellular connectivity development.

  • Ability to learn new technologies and domains, including 3GPP, software development, lab equipment, etc.

  • Excellent programming skill in C/C++/Python, with the ability to understand network protocols such as TCP/IP.

As a Cellular Modem Firmware Engineer, you will focus on development, integration, customization and verification of modem features on Android devices, working closely with vendors. You will be the point of contact for all debugging, triaging and fixing modem issues from factory and certification (https://e.g., GCF/PTCRB/IOT/FIT). You will also be responsible for developing performance optimized connectivity solutions.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $118,000-$172,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.   • Develop modem software, focus on Non-Access Stratum (NAS)/Access Stratum (AS) protocol stack.

  • Develop thermal, power and performance optimized connectivity solution.
