    Google accountants are a savvy bunch who handle the core accounting responsibilities at Google. You know your accounting principles and the full accounting process end to end. You'll advise on financial reports required by governmental regulations, and review, analyze, and interpret financial and budgetary reports.     As a Cloud Technical Accountant, you will provide Accounting governance to foster consistent and scalable decision making across Google Cloud. In this role, you will be a key player in the Cloud Controllership team supporting Cloud's continued rapid growth. You will drive cross-finance collaboration and partnership, strive for consistency, and can both implement new processes and continually look to improve existing processes and policies.
    The US base salary range for this full-time position is $147,000-$221,000. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target salaries for the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.     Responsibilities

    • Perform technical research on complex accounting issues for Google Cloud and provide accounting consultation advice to business partners under United States Generally Accepted Accounting Principles(GAAP).

    • Lead the implementation of new United States GAAP accounting standards, including working with various cross-functional stakeholders.

    • Keep business partners across Cloud abreast of developments in accounting policies and positions through issuance of various frameworks, training sessions and other meeting forums.

    • Be a key technical resource for the Cloud Accounting team. Draft and maintain global Cloud accounting policies.

    • Provide periodic reporting on Accounting Issues and Policy changes to Accounting leadership.
