Minimum qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience.

• 6 years of experience translating enterprise client needs into cloud architectures and setting goals, strategies, and roadmaps.

• Experience with networking (e.g., Linux), software-defined networking, network virtualization, open protocols, application acceleration, load balancing, DNS, virtual private servers and their application in PaaS and IaaS technologies.

Preferred qualifications:

• Master's degree in Computer Science or a related technical field.
• Experience designing and developing software or infrastructure for scalable and secure distributed systems.
• Knowledge of service provider and data center routing.
• Ability to learn, understand, and work with new emerging technologies, methodologies, and solutions in the cloud/IT technology space.

About the job

As a Customer Engineer, you will help customers and assist Sales team members by problem-solving technical issues. You will liaise with various teams to stay on top of industry trends and devise enhancements to Google Cloud products. You will also engage with customers to understand their requirements and persuasively present solutions on Google Cloud.

In this role, you will work directly with Technical Sales teams as a networking subject matter expert to differentiate Google Cloud to our customers. You will also help prospective customers and partners understand the power of Google Cloud by explaining technical features, helping customers design architectures, and problem-solving any potential roadblocks.

Additional Information
(Colorado only*) Minimum salary range between $134,000 - $144,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. *Note: Disclosure as required by sb19-085 (8-5-20) of the minimum salary compensation for this role when being hired into our offices in Colorado.

Responsibilities

• Work with our team to identify and qualify business opportunities, understand customer technical objections, and develop the strategy to resolve technical blockers.
• Share networking experience to support the technical relationship with customers, including product and solution briefings and proof-of-concept work. Partner directly with product management to prioritize solutions impacting customer adoption of Google Cloud.
• Work directly with customers to demonstrate and prototype Google Cloud product integrations in customer/partner environments.
• Recommend integration strategies, enterprise architectures, platforms, and application infrastructure required to successfully implement a complete solution using best practices on Google Cloud.
• Travel to customer sites, conferences, and other related events.
