Developer Relations Developer, Compute Engine

Minimum qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in a technical field or equivalent practical experience.

• 4 years of experience in coding (e.g., Java, Go, NodeJS, Python, Ruby, PHP, .NET).

• Experience developing on a cloud computing platform.

Preferred qualifications:

• Experience with ARM CPU Architecture.
• Experience with orchestration tools such as Terraform, Puppet, or Ansible.
• Experience as a contributor to an open-source project.
• Experience working with third-party developer tools, including creating documentation, APIs, SDKs, and client libraries.

About the job

We are a team of Developer Program Developers with a common purpose of making Google Cloud friendly for all Technical Practitioners. We focus on the following areas of Google Cloud Infrastructure: Compute Engine, Networking, and Security.

In this role, you will work on Google Cloud Compute Engine products with Advanced RISC Machines (ARM) and central processing unit (CPU) architecture, helping our customers successfully deploy and manage the security infrastructure. In this role, you will need to be proficient in managing multiple programming languages and understand the needs of infrastructure operators who deploy their company’s assets on Compute Engine.

Responsibilities

• Implement, release, and manage open-source Software Development Kits (SDKs), APIs, demo apps, tools, samples, blog posts, technical guides, or videos. Contribute to and manage open source projects and drive open standards.
• Advocate for developers internally and influence Google developer product strategy by working with Product Management, Go-to-Market, Developers, Support, PR, Marketing, Business Development, and other cross-functional teams.
• Manage and participate in developer discussion forums, troubleshoot and address the complex developer experience challenges raised in these forums.
• Propose the integration of features that change how users interact with Google Cloud Compute and Networking products.
• Educate developers on best practices for effective integration of Google developer products.
