Developer Relations Engineer, WebView, Android

Minimum qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience.

• Experience working on WebView or similar web libraries on Android.

• Experience with developing in Java and/or Kotlin (mobile or non-mobile).

Preferred qualifications:

• Experience working directly with the ecosystem of SDKs and libraries used in successful mobile applications.
• Experience working with third-party developers to launch large-scale integration, conducting technical workshops/hackathons, and providing technical advice to large companies.
• Experience working in a support or consulting relationship with customers, with considerable success as a technical account manager, solutions consultant, customer engineer, or software developer working on mobile technologies.
• Experience writing technical blogs, articles, videos, or interacting with developer communities.

Part community manager and part developer advocate, Developer Programs Engineers collaborate with developers at conferences and online, and advocate for developers interests internally at Google. Android Developer Relations team's mission is to drive Android ecosystem success, by making it easier and more valuable for developers to build high-quality and responsible applications across all Android devices. We advocate for developers by working with Product and Engineering teams. As a team, we sit within the Android Developer organization, and our team members, include Engineers, Technical Writers, and Program Managers. As the Android platform evolves, we have made tremendous advancements in improving development and user experience in key areas of the platform, such as WebView.

Responsibilities

• Work with Google’s strategic partners to drive adoption of product/API integrations across Android and Google Play ecosystem.
• Take regular engineering-focused meetings with partners to help them design systems, build, launch feature integrations, fix bugs, improve User Experience, and solve complex code problems at a scale for users.
• Work collaboratively with Business Development, Product, and Engineering teams to support expansion of partner, Google business, and bring mutually beneficial products and features to market.
• Be the customer zero of features and provide early technical feedback to help shape the developer experience. Contribute features or sections to documentation, codelabs, and samples to improve critical developer journeys.
• Bring industrial and regional insights to internal stakeholders, and influence cross-functional teams to collaboratively improve the developer and user experience across the ecosystem.
