Display Software Engineer

Minimum qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.

• 2 years of experience with software development in one or more programming languages, or 1 year of experience with an advanced degree.

• 2 years of experience with data structures or algorithms.

• Experience with Embedded Systems, Linux Drivers, C/C++.

Preferred qualifications:

• Master's degree or PhD in Computer Science, or a related technical field.

• Experience with Embedded Development, Android, Linux Driver, Bootloader.

• Experience developing accessible technologies.

• Familiarity with modern display or graphics software stack fundamentals.

• Familiarity with C/C++, Python and Java.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $133,000-$194,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Responsibilities

• Drive complete development cycles of new pixel display projects, from requirements and design through implementation and establishing test plans.
• Design and implement features such as new panel bring up, variable refresh rate, Display Processing Unit (DPU), driver optimization and stability, color management and calibration, HDR, image enhancement methods, panel/DPU power saving/performance optimization and more.
• Own and develop modules in Pixel Hardware Abstraction Layers (HALs), Android HAL implementations, Linux kernel drivers, and bootloader drivers.
• Collaborate closely with Android Platform teams on enabling new generations of Pixel (e.g., surfaceflinger, display and graphics HALs, Window Manager, etc.).
• Develop expertise in display technologies and SoCs, and productize them in future Pixel devices.
